College of Medicine of Complutense University hosted a LAVORO case study

At the end of 2017, Ana Rita Pedrosa, technical director of SPODOS - Foot Science Center, presented the case study of the development of the new Lavoro CUP sole, specially designed for logistics workers. This communication took place within the conference program of the Prevencionar 2017 congress, a forum for professionals in the field of prevention and safety at work, held at the College of Medicine of the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Within the scope of the dissertation “Can professional footwear help to reduce fatigue and fatigue in logistics professionals ?”, the podologist Ana Rita Pedrosa showed how, based on the analysis of the labor environments in the logistics sector, Lavoro developed a model of footwear that enhances the well-being of this growing universe of workers. The audience, formed mostly by Safety, Hygiene and Occupational Health technicians, appreciated this innovative approach to professional footwear very positively, since the sole of the Lavoro CUP model not only complies with standards in the field of prevention of occupational hazards, but also provides a relief of the hyperpressure zones of the sole of the foot. This results in a general decrease in worker fatigue as a result of reduced pressure in the ankles, knees and hips, minimizing the possible pain caused by the mechanical overload typical of the daily tasks of workers in the logistics and transport sector.
